February 2011 - Purley Swimathon - A New Record!
The team of 2 Cubs, 4 Scouts, 2 Purley Oaks Explorers, 1 Leader and our Chairman (who showed of by swimming one full length under water) swam a total of 117 lengths of Purley Pool in 55 minutes, smashing last years record by 8 lengths.
Please return your sponsor form and money to your section leader. We hope to raise about £400. If you have not got a sponsor form but would like to show your support please give any donations to your section leader.
 January 2011 - We Are 25!
This year Beavers are celebrating 25 years of Beaver Scouting. As so there has been a special badge commissioned. We have ordered them and are waiting on their arrival. The badge should be put on the left hand side above the Promise Badge (purple one). The badge can be worn until January 2012.
January 2011 - Leaders and Helpers Needed!
The 8th Purley Beaver Colony is currently full and we have a waiting list. We really do need more adult help on a regular basis, ideally an additional Beaver Leader and a regular helper. If you would would like to become a Leader or regular helper at Beavers, please contact us.

8th Purley Beavers is now full and we have a waiting list. Some Beavers will be moving up to Cubs this year so we will take some new members from the waiting list. If you would like your son or daughter to join 8th Purley Beavers in the future, please contact us to join the waiting list.

We are now collecting Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers. Please put them in the collecting box in the entrance lobby in the Scout Hut!
