8th Purley Scouts Camps
8th Purley Scouts take part in many camps each year. All camping is optional, but we do encourage Scouts to go on as many camps as they can or want to.
Many of our camps are local weekend camps at Bears Wood, Forestdale. Some are organised by Croydon District, such as the Patrol Leader camp, First Aid Training Weekend, Adkin Trophy camping competition and Survival Training Weekend. Our own camps at Bears Wood include our Group Camp, our fun Challenge Camp, and our Christmas Party camp.
Our Scouts camp further afield too at weekend fun camps or night hikes organised by GLSW County and at the Iping Horse Trials in West Sussex, where Scouts rebuild fences that have been knocked down by horses.
Our Summer Camps are even further afield. Some years we go to Scotland, some years we go to Kandersteg in Switzerland, and some years we join Jamborees or other large fun activity camps with dozens of other Scout Troops.

We are now collecting Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers. Please put them in the collecting box in the entrance lobby in the Scout Hut!
